Minot North 69-Watford City 58
Watford City traveled to Minot to take on Minot North in a non-region contest. Since Minot North is a AA school, the game was played under AA rules. The Wolves jumped out to a quick lead as they scored the first four points. Minot North rattled off the next 12 points, before Watford City scored the next seven. The game was on a seesaw for the next several minutes with both teams enjoying small leads. Minot North extended the lead to 38-30 at halftime as the Wolves dealt with some foul trouble.
“We shot the ball well throughout the game, scoring well in the paint,” said Watford City head coach, David Gumke. “Our effective field goal percentage was 50 percent, which takes into account 2’s and 3’s. We played pretty good defense. We ended up having good balanced scoring, which is always fun to watch. The guys played well together. It was a fun game to coach.”
