Killdeer 75, Watford City 46
Watford City hosted Killdeer in their final home game and final Region 4 game of the season. The Wolves fought through some early turnovers to stay within four points until early in the second quarter. Killdeer turned up the defensive pressure which made it difficult for Watford City to get into an offensive rhythm. “It was more of what we did to ourselves: 14 of our 18 turnovers came in the first half,” said Watford City Head Coach, David Gumke. “In the second quarter, most of our turnovers were live ball turnovers and a few of those were under their basket or on their half court after we secured the rebound or passed the ball in. Those live ball turnovers turned into easy buckets for Killdeer. During that second quarter we also went on a stretch where we couldn’t score and they did. We did do some good things against their run-and-jump and were able to score some layups, but then we would have stretches of turning the ball over or taking a quick shot that wasn’t a layup.”
