We had very nice warm weather with some wind on Monday, April 20, in Minot. We had a couple of athletes come close to qualifying in their events and will hopefully get them in at the next meet.
Junior Alvarez ran the 300 Hurdles for only the second time of the year and missed qualifying by three hundredths of a second.
Judah Mitchell also ran well in the 400 and missed qualifying by 39-hundredths of a second.
Thaydan threw well in his Shot Put and Discus, showing that he is mentally tough and consistent with his marks.
Dehico Bocanegra Tovar went to the girls meet on April 21, and ran in the distance events with some of the best boys in the state. That opportunity was available because the wind was supposed to be better in Bismarck on Tuesday, than it was on Monday in Minot.
