Junior Gold goes 1-2 at State Tourney
The Watford City Oilers Junior Gold team ended its season at the state tournament, which was held March 4-6, in Crosby. The Oilers lost their first two games and won their final game of the year on Saturday morning.
On Thursday night, the Oilers lost 10-0 to the eventual state champion Crosby Comets. The Comets scored three goals in the first period, six goals in the second period and one goal in the third.
John Blegen faced 56 shots in two periods of action and Garrett Fiedler faced 12 shots in the third period.
On Friday afternoon the Oilers lost 11-4 to the Fargo Freeze.
