Sonja Aasen

Sonja Aasen

Tuesday, March 7, 2023, will forever hold in our memories the void left when our beloved sister and aunt, Sonja Kaye Aasen unexpectedly departed from this earth!
Sonja, the second daughter born to Lynn and Mary Aasen, was born in Hazen, N.D. on Jan. 7, 1958. She lived with her family in Beulah, N.D., until 1970. They then moved to Watford City after her dad purchased the Four Eyes Hotel. Sonja graduated from Watford City High School in 1976. In 1980, Sonja and her mother moved to Arkansas where she resided until her passing. Sonja attended the University of Arkansas and graduated with a Marketing degree which enabled her to launch her 30-plus-year career with AT&T before retiring in 2018.
Sonja is remembered by many as lighthearted with a love to laugh and visit until she was satisfied all the details were covered! She strived to keep up with the latest fashions including hair and makeup paying much attention to associated details! Her smile was absolutely fabulous, her laugh was contagious; she would tilt her chin up and her eyes would just light up the whole room! Even so, Sonja was a very private and solitary person; all who knew her loved her, family was the most important to her! Sonja adored her nephew and niece, Eric as well, she and Eric’s daughter Kayley, had a very special connection! Dianne, her sister, was a strong support and friend to Sonja throughout her life.
Sonja was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Mary; as well as both her Aasen and Moore grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place; no services will be held. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com
