Leanne Abelmann

Leanne Abelmann, 69, of rural Alexander, N.D., passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2018.
Leanne Marie (Melberg) Abelmann was born Oct. 6, 1948, to James and Iris (Herseth) Melberg in Powers Lake, N.D. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Battleview, N.D. Her school years were in Battleview and Powers Lake. She later attended Minot Business College. Leanne married Roy Neset and had 2 children, Pati and Vance. She met Dan Abelmann, “the love of my life,” and they married Sept. 29, 2000, and lived and ranched in rural Alexander, N.D.
Over the years, Leanne had many jobs including her own cleaning business, Triangle Night Club, Sidney Country Club, Cattle-Ac and, most recently, the Country Café. Leanne loved to work and did so until her body said “no more!”
She loved life at the ranch, branding, working in her yard, garage sales, scrapbooking, American Pickers show and filling her house full of western décor, making it look like a western museum. Leanne loved spending time with her family and grandkids
Leanne is survived by her husband, Dan Abelmann of Alexander; daughter, Pati Clausen of Bismarck, N.D.; her siblings, Linda Holmen of Tioga, N.D., Jeane Harwood of Seattle, Wash., and Steve (Corrine) Melberg of Battleview, N.D.; her grandchildren, Amy (Anthony) Allogia of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Paige, Mykenzie and Zane Clausen of Mandan, N.D. and Zachary Neset of Rapid City, S.D.; along with several  nieces and nephews.
Leanne was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Vance Neset.
Her funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Williston. Pastor Steve Lundblom officiated. Cremation followed the service.
