Jeffery Morton

Jeffery Dean Morton, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 12, 2018, in Alexander, N.D.
Jeff is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned the Bronze Star. He served his Country from December of 1970 to September of 1973.
He grew up in Northern Cali., where he fell in love with volunteering with the Fire Department, starting at the age of 15. To follow his dream of becoming a Police Officer, he moved to Gillette, Wyo., in 1977 and moved up the ranks to Sargent then to Detective.
He moved to Alexander, N.D., in March of 1990 and started volunteering on their Fire Department.  Even though he no longer when out to calls, he stayed at the Fire Hall to man the radio so he would be there in case anything was needed by his brother/sister Firemen out in the field. On Sept. 25, 2018, he would have been awarded the Volunteer Firefighter of the Year Award by McKenzie County.
Devoted father of Carrie Ann Berland (Michael) and Jeffery Dean Morton Jr. Big brother to Peggy McElhaney (mike), Brother-in-Law to Braly Zumwalt. Loving grandpa to Aaron, Skyler, Alex, Brittany, Chelsea and Ricky. Great Grandpa to Emma, Cohen and Laynie.
Uncle to Natasha Wilson (Jeffery) and Randall Mosley ( Cherie), Great Uncle to Jessica, Aundrea and Nathan.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Dean and Dolly Morton; sister, Deborah Morton-Zumwalt; and grandson Jordan.
There will be a CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE at the Alexander Fire Hall on Wednesday Sept. 19, starting at 2 p.m.
