Watford City High School (WCHS) is set to elevate its leadership and citizenship offerings this academic year. McKenzie County Public School District #1 (MCPSD1) officially announced this month that it has received approval from the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) Unit Activation Board to establish a new program beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
For Superintendent Dr. Steve Holen, the addition of the program marks a significant milestone in the district’s efforts to provide world-class experiences to local students. “This is an exciting opportunity for our students and our entire school community,” Dr. Holen said. “The AFJROTC program will provide students with valuable experiences, opportunities, and skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. We are honored to partner with the United States Air Force to bring this program to our district.”
