As citizens around the nation prepare for the upcoming semiquincentennial celebration, North Dakota is also gearing up for one of the most significant milestones in its history.
On Independence Day, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (TRPL) will officially open its doors in Medora, marking the culmination of a massive, long-awaited vision to honor the 26th President in the rugged landscape that shaped his legacy.
For Gretchen Stenehjem, the sole Board of Trustees member representing Western North Dakota, this project is more than just a library, it is a transformative experience. “This is huge, one of the most historic days in North Dakota history,” Stenehjem said. “This place is simply amazing. It’s not so much a library; it will be an adventure through the life of Theodore Roosevelt.”
