ND 200 Memorial Highway Dedication Scheduled

A recent inquiry sought out how The week of May 10-16, is National Police Week with Friday, May 15, being National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
Established in 1962, that day honors fallen law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty with flags to be flown at half-staff.
In North Dakota this year, a special mobile dedication is set to embark across North Dakota Highway 200 beginning on Tuesday, May 12 in Fairview, Montana.
The 2025 North Dakota Legislative Session saw Senate Bill 2277 introduced and passed. The bill designated ND 200 as the North Dakota Fallen Peace Officers Memorial Highway. Two points of memorial were addressed. One, the entire highway was dedicated to honor all fallen peace officers killed in the line of duty while serving their communities. Second, the law allows for one mile of road to be chosen and dedicated to an individual peace officer or canine with distinct signage.
