On Thursday, April 25, McKenzie Healthcare announced a temporary interruption of their Labor and Delivery and obstetrics services due to an emergency situation that called the doctor on-duty away.
Pete Edis, CEO of the McKenzie County Healthcare Systems, stated, “Please be advised that McKenzie Health will be on diversion for obstetrics from 5 a.m., Saturday, April 27th, to mid-afternoon (approximately 2 p.m.) Sunday afternoon, April 28th.  The two closest hospitals that provide obstetrics have been given a heads-up.”
He went on to explain that this temporary situation would be resolved when one of their other doctors began their shift. “Thankfully, Dr. Uhlman is the covering OB/GYN through next week. In the meantime, we are working on securing additional coverage to minimize any gaps in care.”
