AS I SEE IT

Last week the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on two cases brought before it on the Biden administration’s COVID vaccine mandates. And in the process of deciding those two rulings, the highest court really only muddied the waters on the validity of those mandates.
In one case, in a 5-4 decision in the case of Biden v. Missouri, the court allowed the Department of Health and Human Services to begin implementing a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for workers at health-care facilities that accept Medicare and Medicaid funds. That mandate is expected to cover some 10 million healthcare workers.
And in the other case of the National Federation of Independent Businesses v. the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the court, by a 6-3 decision, stayed the implementation of a vaccine-or-test mandate by OSHA that would have covered an estimated 84 million people at companies with more than 100 employees.
So what does this mean when it comes to vaccine mandates?
That’s a good question.
