Jim Dooley has agreed to become the new head football coach for Watford City High School. “Jim Dooley is a student of the game, he is always well prepared,” said Watford City Activities Director, Brad Foss. “Coach Dooley is well respected in the coaching circles and is well known across the state. We had a great pool of candidates to choose from and I hope Coach Dooley can bring back the culture and energy to Watford City Football.”
Coach Dooley brings a lot of experience with him into this new job. “I’ve been in coaching for 34 years, 32 as a head football coach,” stated Dooley. “I started my career as an 8-man football coach for one year in Farnam, Nebraska. I then went to Pinedale, Wyoming for two years. I returned to Nebraska to the town of Bloomfield in the northeastern part of the state. At Bloomfield, I met my mentor Gary Walling, who had a tremendous impact on me as a coach and person. I was his assistant for a year and then took over for him the following year. I was at Bloomfield for three years (I would return later) and accepted a job in Colorado Springs, CO at Doherty High School, where I was the head coach for that 5A program for six years.
