The Watford City Walleye made the trip across the state to Kindred for the Class A State Tournament. The games did not go as planned for the Walleye as they lost to the East No. 1 Wahpeton, 17-0 and got eliminated by the West No. 2 Bismarck Senators, 9-3.
“The state tournament experience was eye-opening to say the least,” said Coach Logan Krivoruchka. “The jump in the amount of onfield pressure from WDA to State was very high when comparing them to each other. The gentlemen have solid experience with the level of pressure the WDA has to offer, but playing against teams from the EDC that consistently make it to state was something most of the guys were not ready to face in the state tournament.” Wahpeton has proven to be one of the most dominant baseball teams in recent history and their dominance has continued into the state tournament.
