The Wolves faced their most important week of the season with three road games against Region opponents. They passed every test, going 3-0 which clinched them a second place finish in the first year of Division A Region 4.

Watford City 57
Killdeer 39
Their first win of the week came on Monday, at Killdeer’s beautiful new high school gym. Killdeer made the first and last basket in the first quarter, but Watford City had a 15-0 in the middle of Killdeer’s four points.
“First and foremost, we played good defense in that first quarter,” said Watford City head coach Tom Dwyer. “We played together as a team with good intensity, awareness, and communication. And then we did a good job of making the extra pass and getting good shots on offense.”
The Wolves led by as many as 18 in the first, thanks in large part to sophomore Bailey Mattson’s 12 points. Killdeer, who celebrated Senior Night during a pregame ceremony, refused to give up. The Cowboys went on a 10-0 during the third quarter that made the score 39-31.
“Killdeer played tough,” said Coach Dwyer. “They played hard and didn’t give up for a single moment. So I was proud of how hard our team played. We did a good job playing defense and rebounding. Offensively, we started to figure out how to attack their 1-2-2 zone. It was a good game.”
