Dalton Wright and Nicole Fladeland of Watford City will be competing with the North Dakota National Junior High Rodeo Team in the 7th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Gallup, N.M., from June 26 to July 2.
Wolves take 8th at State Class B Baseball tourney
Justin Johnsrud, head coach of the Watford City High School’s baseball team, pretty well summed up his and his team’s feelings as the Wolves dropped three straight games to finish in eighth place at the State Class B Baseball Tournament in Mandan.
Nick Liebel capped off an outstanding high school golfing career as he was named the 2011 Senior Athlete of the Year in Class B golf.
Girls golf team takes 17th at State
The Watford City girls golf team closed out its 2011 season with a 17th place finish at the Class B Girls State Golf Tournament at the Dakota Winds Golf Course in Hankinson on May 31 and June 1.
Haugeberg wins state pole vault title
McKayla Haugeberg was the bright spot for Watford City’s girls track team at the State Class B Track Meet, which was held on Friday and Saturday at the Bismarck Bowl, as the sophomore won the state title in the pole vault with a vault of 10’6”, which was her career’s personal best and set a new Watford City High School record.
