ND State Representative running for re-election supports property tax measure

A prominent North Dakota lawmaker is publicly announcing his support of a bill that would end property taxes across the state.
Jim Kasper (R-Fargo), the chair of the Legislature’s Government & Veterans Affairs Committee and the Special House Committee on Ethics told KTGO Radio (AM 1090 / FM 92.7) that the state has enough money to give back to the residents, and one way to do so is to pay for approximately a billion dollars annually to replace property tax dollars.
Kasper believes that the state could be spending its vast resources more wisely and one of the ways to do that is to offer property tax relief.  “We’ve had so much money, and when you have money, you spend it. That’s one of the reasons why I am supporting the property tax repeal.” said Kasper.
