Watford City traveled to Jamestown to take on the No. 1 Blue Jays in 11A High School Football last Friday night. Jamestown got the win 47-0.
The undefeated Blue Jays got off to a quick start and never looked back. They scored on their first drive as Payton Hochhalter hit Jackson Walters for a 21-yard touchdown pass on the sixth play of the drive. Jamestown scored next on a three-play, 35-yard drive capped off by a five-yard touchdown run by Josh Robertson. The next score came on a blocked punt returned by Tuyikeze Faustin for 35 yards and a touchdown, making it 19-0 with 5:37 left in the first quarter.
Watford City held Jamestown scoreless for the remainder of the first half, including a notable goal line stand. The Wolves offense struggled to get into a rhythm against the big, physical and talented Jamestown defense.
