Wolves off to a good start

Watford on the road Friday and Saturday

Watford City kept its winning streak intact last Tuesday as the Wolves defeated the Beach Bucs 72-50 to improve their record to 3-0.

This week, the team will travel to Stanley on Friday and to Beulah on Saturday before closing out the week’s schedule when they host Tioga on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Watford City 72, Beach 50

Beach ran into a buzz saw as four Watford City players hit double figures last Tuesday evening as the Wolves defeated the Bucs 72-50 as the team picked up its third straight win of the season.

Christian Schulz had a big night for the Wolves as he burned the net for 21 points, including a pair of three-pointers. Also scoring in double figures for Watford City was Justin Flatland with 16 points, Casey Jore with 13 points and Kevin Sanford with 12 points.

The Wolves took control of the game early posting a 20-10 first quarter lead and then never looked back en route to the easy win. Watford City led the Bucs 39-24 at halftime.

Rounding out the scoring for Watford City was Nick Liebel with five points, Trey Jacobson with three points and Tyler Flatland with two points.
