Dickinson Trinity 50,
Watford City 40

The Wolves hosted Dickinson Trinity last Tuesday evening, with the Titans emerging victorious. It was a low-scoring game that saw the Wolves score their lowest point total this season. “Dickinson Trinity is a team that will keep it low scoring and try to grind every possession,” explained Watford City head coach, Justin Hager. “They do a great job keeping you off the offensive boards which makes it hard. I thought our defensive rotations and communication were really good. We did a better job on the defensive rebounding aspect of things as well and limited them to one shot or made them shoot hard twos and contested threes. When we fly around on defense and are rotating and keeping guys out of the paint we are really good. We just have to be more consistent at it.”

Watford City shot 50 percent (17-of-34) from the field for the game, but were hurt by their 19 turnovers that Trinity turned into 16 of their points. Trinity’s talented junior, Emerson Simnioniw, led the Titans with 23 points. Watford City held a three-point lead early in the first quarter, while Trinity’s largest lead was 12 points in the fourth quarter.
