The Wolves scored first, but the Saints answered with two 11-0 runs, thanks in large part to their three-point shooting. Watford City head coach Tom Dwyer said, “Give St. Mary’s a lot of credit. They shot well, especially from three-point range.”
St. Mary’s put the game out of reach with a 14-0 run to start the second half. Mykie Messer was the star of the game as she shot 14/16 from the field, 5/6 on three-pointers and scored 33 points. As a team, St. Mary’s shot 53 percent on field goals and 43 percent on 3-pointers, 12/28.
