Watford City Baseball loses to Bismarck, defeats Sidney

Working around the wintry weather, Watford City varsity baseball was able to play three games this past week. The Wolves traveled to Bismarck for a WDA doubleheader, falling 18-0 and 5-4 on April 18. They then traveled west on April 22 and picked up a non-conference victory over Sidney by the score of 8-2.

Bismarck pitcher, Tate Schaner, threw a one-hitter and Bismarck’s offense was red-hot after the first inning in Game 1. Jordan Doty got on base with a single and Hunter Cowan reached on a walk for the Wolves offense. Cowan started the game on the pitcher’s mound. He took the loss and had two strikeouts. Kieron Tolbert and Brandon Spacher pitched in relief.
