Watford City’s boys and girls track teams each competed in two meets this past week with Jaelyn Ogle and the girls 1,600 meter relay team qualifying for State in Mandan on Tuesday, May 3, while Aaron Cutshall qualified in the triple jump for the boys team in Williston on Friday, May 6.
“After a long wait because of injuries and weather delays the Watford City girls track team is starting to get in the groove and seeing some great things happen,” stated Richard Rust, girls head coach. “With only three more chances to qualify for state, we hope to see more girls qualify.”
Ogle took first in the 3,200 meter run with a state qualifying time of 11:51.61 on Tuesday, while on Thursday, the girls 1,600 meter relay team took first place in a time of 4:10.21, which is the third fastest time in Class A so far this year.
