Watford City’s boys and girls track teams will be heading to the WDA Championship Meet on Friday, May 21, with hopes of qualifying more athletes for the upcoming State Class A Track and Field Meet on May 28 and 29.
And this past week, the Watford City boys posted some very good times at the Carlson Booster Invite in Dickinson on May 13, while the girls team competed in Bismarck.
“Jalen Strickland was our lone placer with a seventh place finish in the triple jump,” stated Dave Gumke, boys head coach. “He was just seven inches off of the qualifying mark.”
According to Gumke, Dakota Cluchie qualified in the 200 meter dash placing 11th in a race that saw the top 12 runners qualify.
