Spikers are No. 2 seed in District 15 Tournament

Watford City’s varsity volleyball team swept the Beulah Miners in three quick games on Wednesday, Oct. 14, as the Wolves see their regular season coming to an end. The Wolves will close out their regular season play this week as they host Heart River on Thursday evening in their final home game of the season.
Watford City will then advance to the District 15 Tournament, which gets underway at the New Town High School on Nov. 2, 3 and 4. The Wolves will enter the district tournament as the No. 2 seed and will take on White Shield, the No. 7 seed, in the final evening game on Monday, Nov. 2.
“We are looking to have a great showing in the District Tournament,” states Brad Foss, Wolves’ head coach.

Watford City 3, Beulah 0
Watford City had 33 kills and eight service aces as the Wolves overpowered the Beulah Miners in three games last Wednesday. The Wolves took the first game, 25-15, and then closed out the sweep of the Miners taking the final two games by scores of 25-15 and 25-15.
“It was a nice win for the Wolves,” stated Foss.
Ricki Lindley had a great game offensively for the Wolves as she led the team with 17 kills, while ending the match with three service aces. Defensively for the Wolves Mackenzie Sparby had three blocks, while Alli Mogen had seven digs.
Individual statistics for Watford City from the match were as follows:
Kills: Ricki Lindley, 17; Mackenzie Sparby, 8 Katie Mogen, 8.
Assists: Alli Mogen, 15; ReiAnn Lindley, 13.
Digs: A. Mogen, 7; Ricki Lindley, 6; Mikka Haugeberg, 6.
Blocks: Sparby, 3; K. Mogen, 2.
Aces: K. Mogen, 5; Ricki Lindley, 3.
