Watford City 70,
New Town 46
Watford City hit the road last Tuesday night, and used a fast start to defeat New Town. “We got some steals for layups early,” said Watford City head coach, Tom Dwyer. “We moved the ball well offensively, took good quality shots, and it always helps when someone shoots well. Bailey (Mattson) was feeling it.” The Wolves built a big 16-2 lead to start the game and totaled 46 points in the first half. “I was happy for Bailey tonight,” said Coach Dwyer. “She just played well in all phases, played good defense, made some good passes, and shot it well. Bailey is one of the best shooters in our region so we just need to keep giving her the ball when she’s open.”
Mattson finished with 20 points, including four 3-pointers in 23 minutes played. As a team, the Wolves had 27 steals and scored 41 points off of 37 New Town turnovers. The Wolves pulled down 25 offensive rebounds, seven of which came from Mylee Rhone. Annabelle Bohn led Watford City with five assists, while both Bohn and Harlee Jacobson recorded six steals.
