The girls were ready for their meet on home turf Tuesday, Sept. 20. This course was one of the hardest the teams have ever run on. In spite of this, Jaelyn Ogle continued to lead the state and finished first with a time of 18:41. The team finished 7th overall and had all of their runners finish within five minutes of each other.
Girls High School results: 1st, Jaelyn Ogle, 19:48; 5th, Savannah Olson, 24:23; 6th, Lola Olson, 24:26; 13th, Tricia Smitz, 27:37; 23rd, Katie Olson, 21:18.
The Watford City Boys Cross Country team conquered the home course, including an extremely difficult hill that stretched a half-a-mile long. The boys knew they wouldn’t get their best times, but they all finished strong and seven of them were in the top 10. This resulted in a first place finish for the team.
