Comets tackle fourth win of the season

The Alexander Comets remained undefeated with a high-scoring 52-36 win over Westhope-Newburg Glenburn last Friday night. Both offenses had their way early on with both teams answering a touchdown with another touchdown. The only difference on the scoreboard in the first half was due to W-N-G’s three successful two-point conversions to Alexander’s one.

“The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with neither defense being able to get off the field,” said Alexander head coach, Trey Jacobson. “At halftime I told the guys, ‘the team that finds a way to get off the field defensively without allowing a score is going to win this game.’ Apparently, that was W-N-G’s message also. Nobody scored in the third quarter.”
