Watford City Invite 5/6
Dehico Bocanegra Tovar had another tough, but successful day.  He qualified in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.58 placing him second and ranking him twelfth in Class A. He then ran the 3200 meter run placing first with a qualifying time of 10:05.21, ranking him fourteenth in the Class A standings. Shortly after the 3200, he also ran the best split on the 4x400 relay team that missed qualifying by about two and a half seconds. Thayden Arnold improved his discus best by about 9 feet putting him within about 4 feet of a state qualifying throw. Brogan Shannon impressed many with his personal best throw of 136’11” in the Javelin placing him fourth in the meet. He improved his best mark by 25 feet 10 inches. 160 feet is the state qualifying mark. The exciting thing is that he is only a freshman. James Odenbach had a very good day placing in all four of his individual events.
The team placed second out of 10 teams. We were behind first place Dickinson High by 5 points.

Dickinson Invite 5/10
It was a very hot and windy day for our athletes. The weather took a lot of their energy. There were no new state qualifiers, although we still had some improvements on times and distances. We have a quick turnaround splitting our team and going to the last chance meet in Dickinson and the Sophomore/Freshman WDA meet in Mandan on Monday May 12. Looks to be another hot and windy day on May 12. Hopefully Saturday helped us get adjusted to the high temperatures. This gives our athletes one more chance to qualify before our region meet in Bismarck on Friday May 16.
