2026 WCHS Hall of Fame nominees announced

The Watford City High School Hall of Fame Class of 2026 has been announced. This year’s inductees are:
1998 Football Team - Undefeated Class AA State Champions. The Wolves beat Cavalier, Dickinson Trinity, and Rugby in the postseason to claim their seventh State Championship in football. They out-scored their opponents by a point total of 569-86.
2007 Girls Golf Team - Won the Class B State Championship. This group was the first girls team to win a state championship in school history. Head Coach LeRoy Bettenhausen was named NDHSCA Coach of the Year for Class B Girls Golf.
LeRoy Bettenhausen - Longtime teacher and coach. He coached the girls golf team to the 2007 State Championship; and his 2006 and 2008 teams were State runners-up. He also coached football, track and field, and junior high basketball.
Clarence Labor - Taught and coached in Watford City from 1952-1960. Head Coach of Football, Track, Basketball, Wrestling and Baseball and was the Advisor of Letterman’s Club. He was a pioneer for Watford City athletics and then went on to have a decorated coaching and teaching career in Devils Lake.
