Steve Haverluk
Steve Haverluk, 89, of Dickinson, N.D., formerly of Miles City, Mont., passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson, N.D.
Steven was born on March 18, 1926, the son of Mike and Mary (Dirbnenki) Haverluk.
He attended White Tail Elementary in Gorham, N.D. On Nov. 14, 1944, he enlisted into the United States Army. After the army he ranched and was an auctioneer in Fairfield. Some of Steve’s hobbies included, fishing, music and bull sales. He was a member of the American Legion.
Steve lived a happy, full life and gave us many memories. With his all-time big smile and songs of praise of love to Our Lord, he would often burst out in a joyous voice singing - mnohaya litya - which is Ukranian, for many years.
Steve is survived by his sons, Mickey (Tracey) Haverluk of Grassy Butte, N.D.; Jay (Angie) Haverluk of Belfield, N.D.; daughter, Grace (Beau) Sneed of Belfield, N.D.; brothers, Bill Haverluk of Belfield, N.D.; Joe (Connie) Haverluk of Richland, Wash.; sisters, Regina (Al) Wagner of San Diego, Calif.; Pearl Ewoniuk of Dickinson, N.D.; Margie Grosulak and Josephine Shypkoski of Belfield, N.D.; Ella Basaraba of Idaho; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Mary; brother, Paul Haverluk; Sister, Filarette and Sister, Severina.
A Parastas service for Steve Haverluk, was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church in Fairfield with Father Taras Miles celebrating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation for Steve was at 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service that was held at 7 p.m.
