Nathan Sims

Nathan Alan Sims, the most beloved 16-year-old son of Andy Sims and Donna Sims, passed away in a car accident Jan. 28, 2015. Nathan was born on Aug. 9, 1998, in Williston, and he was raised on a farm, south of Alexander for his entire life.
He had an older brother, Kellan, and an older sister, Katie. He was joined two years after he was born by his sister, Emmalee, and she became his most humorous sidekick, followed two years later by another sister, Alex. She became one of Nathan’s greatest loved challenges.
Some of the things that Nathan loved: singing songs from start to finish (no matter how many times his friends begged him to stop), ketchup by the gallons, pizza and chicken nuggets, trapping coyotes, video games, hanging out with friends and family, working at the convenience store and museum, and his favorite job of working with his Dad at the school. He loved his best four-legged friend, Sorcha, and even made room to love cats. His love of Star Wars as a young boy eventually turned into a love of Minecraft. He loved collecting rocks and his Grandma Mary made sure to find a box so he could keep growing his collection.
Anybody who knew Nathan would tell you he was a gentle giant, with a kind heart, who loved his family and friends, and continuously shared his unique sense of humor with everyone he came into contact with.
Nathan is survived by his dad and mom; his brother, Kellan; his three sisters, Katie, Emmy, and Alex; his Grandma Mary, Grandma Sandie Hartman and her husband, John, Grandpa Dwight Fyllesvold and his wife, Wilma; Great-Grandma Pearl Grosz and her husband, Harold;  and many, many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins and nieces, all who loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his Papa (Ford) Sims.
Funeral services for Nathan were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Alexander High School.
