Marie Treftz
Marie Joy Treftz, 75, of Watford City, N.D., passed away at Wibaux County Nursing Home Friday morning, May 9, 2025.
Marie Joy Treftz was born Feb. 27, 1950, to Betty Emerald (Bahls) Edeburn and Alvin Dennis Edeburn. She grew up in Lambert, Mont., where she graduated from Lambert High School in 1968.
After graduating high school, Marie raised her children and worked in restaurant management and in Business Administration. She graduated from Montana State University in 1993 with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
Marie enjoyed fishing and gardening. She loved listening to Neil Diamond and Elton John. She also enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Marie are her children, Holly (Tim) Bouma of Colorado Springs, Rhonda Bourne of Watford City, and Tina (Todd) Kostad of Watford City, David Red Fox of Watford City; grandchildren, Bobby (Kaeley) Brown, Dillon (Kristina) Brown, Kira Kostad (Patrick Dennis), Angelyn (Zach) Sonderegger, Brindin (Lila) Kostad, Jaxson Kostad, and Cassidy (Nathen) Pederson; great - grandchildre, Caidyn, Damien, Kallie, Asher, Camden, Icelynn, Tommy, Elijah, and Brooklyn; sisters, Phyllis Meyer, Bonnie Knadler, Penny Ruhd, and Melanie Biscoe; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Welcoming her into Heaven are her parents, Dennis and Betty Edeburn; and her godson, John Winterrowd.
