Lorraine Vorderbruggen

Lorraine A. Vorderbruggen, 91, New Town, died Thursday, June 15, 2017, in a New Town assisted living center.
Lorraine was born September 1, 1925, to Lloyd J. and Ruth (Clare) Martin in Oregon, where she also was raised and attended school.
Lorraine was united in marriage to Robert “Les” Kinden in Klamath Falls, Ore. in April of 1945; they made their home on the family farm in McKenzie County near Keene, N.D. They were blessed with three children. Les died in January of 1984 and Lorraine then moved to New Town.
In October of 1987, Lorraine married Leo Vorderbruggen in New Town. They made their home on Leo’s farm northeast of New Town and moved into town in 1999. Leo died in April of 2008.
Lorraine worked in the activities department at the New Town nursing home for over 20 years. She loved dancing and crocheting…and more dancing. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church of New Town. Her beautiful smile and cheerful personality will be truly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Dan Kinden (Rachel) of Keene; daughter, Virginia Grimestad (Garry) of Missoula, Mont.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Robert “Les” Kinden and Leo Vorderbruggen; son, James Kinden; grandson, Brendon Grimestad; and sister, Mildred Gale.
Funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, New Town. Rosary will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. in Langhans Funeral Home, Parshall
Interment will be held at Van Hook Catholic Cemetery, rural New Town.
