Lorraine Bendixson

Lorraine A. Bendixson, 76, of Watford City, N.D., died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, under the care of Marian Manor Nursing Home in Glen Ullin, N.D., where she was battling cancer.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at First Lutheran Church, Watford City. Rev. Rob Favorite officiated, and interment followed at Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.
Lorraine was born Aug. 22, 1935, to Art and Tillie Eliassen. She attended rural school near Grenora, N.D., and graduated from Grenora High School in 1953. On Sept. 25, 1953, she married Odean Bendixson, her husband of 58 years.
Lorraine did bookkeeping for many years for their family business, B&H Body Shop. She enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling and her Hardanger needle work. One of the things she really enjoyed was her annual golfing trip to South Dakota. She spent many summers and good times at their lake cabin on McKenzie Bay with her family.
Lorraine was also a member of the Friendly 15 Homemakers and First Lutheran Church in Watford City.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Odean; her son, Miles, and his wife, Jackie, and their sons, Ted and Mike of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; her daughter, Hollie, and husband, Dale Emter, and their children, Kevin (Shantel), Kayla (Eric) and Mitchell of Glen Ullin, N.D.; her brother, Keith, and wife, Kathleen Eliassen of Gillette, Wyo.; and brother-in-law, Dennis Hansen, of Dagmar, Mont., and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Tillie Eliassen; her brothers, Art Jr. and Dale Eliassen; sister, Shirley Hansen; and daughter, Sherrie Bettenhausen.
