Karmon Holm

Karmon Holm recently passed away in New York. He was born Jan. 16, 1913, to Ole Holm and Anna Bakken Holm in Watford City.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 until 1945. He attended the University of Pocatello in Idaho and received his Third Mate License in Civil Engineering. In 1950, he joined the Transportation Corp., and sailed as Captain of the LST involved in atomic tests on Marshal Island. He worked for Dewline Supply in the Korea and Vietnam conflicts.
He was a very generous man with a large family of siblings and a large number of acquaintances in all his worldly travels. If at any time he thought someone needed assistance, he was there for them.
He was a well self-educated man on all world affairs and was a very hard man to defeat in a debate. He was never one to boast of any deeds he did. He asked for very little from anyone. His one request was upon his death, he wished to be cremated and his ashes spread on his father’s homestead, SE¼ Sec13 150 99, McKenzie County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and their husbands, three brothers and their wives, one infant brother and two sister-in-laws. He is survived by one sister-in-law, three brothers and a host of nieces and nephews.
No other funeral arrangements are planned at this time.
