Karen Owens
Karen Owens passed away in Mesa, Ariz., on Oct. 18, 2023. Born in Billings, Mont., on July 29, 1941, to Ruth (Peters) and Conrad Moravec, Karen worked throughout her life, primarily in banking and as a business owner. Among other things, Karen will be remembered for her talent in art and design, interest in people and their stories, curiosity and quest to learn, work ethic, faith in God, competitive nature and love for card games, and compassion for the disadvantaged.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margot McLaughlin, Carol Wolf and Tom Moravec; sons, Conrad Beckman and Curtis Beckman; her former husband, Ken Beckman; and her Scottish terrier, Jiggs.
She is survived by her former husband, Rick Holm; her children, David (Geri) Beckman, Park River, N.D., Margot (Randy Samuelson) Jordan, Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Gary Beckman, Bismarck, N.D.; as well as four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
