Jeanne Walters

Maida Jeanne was born October 5, 1932, to William (Bill) and Eva (Karpyak) Ewen at Watford City, N.D. Jeanne graduated salutatorian from Watford City High School in 1950. She was employed at several McKenzie County offices over the years. In 1952, Jeanne married Omer Felland of Charlson, N.D. They made their home in Watford City and raised their three daughters. In 1981, Jeanne retired after twelve years of service with McKenzie Electric R.E.C.
Omer died in 1990. In 1993, Jeanne moved to Spearfish, S.D. In 1995, she met and married Ralph Walters.
Jeanne was an active member of the A.L.C. and L.C.M.S. Churches and enjoyed doing a lot of volunteer work. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Spearfish Senior Center and Spearfish Regional Hospital Auxiliary. The greatest joy in her life was knowing Jesus Christ as her Savior, which brought her many blessings. Her second greatest joy was her family.
Jeanne is survived by two daughters, Julie (Ron) Hauck, Rapid City, S.D., and Colleen (Jim) Pojorlie, Grassy Butte, N.D.; son-in-law, Bernie Sadowsky, Dickinson, N.D.; grandchildren, Aaron Sadowsky, Stephanie Jeanne Croff, Clayton (Stacy) Pojorlie and Jason (Katie) Pojorlie; great grandchildren: Lelend Villars, Nadia Forland, Ali Pojorlie and Rylee Pojorlie.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Eva; brother, Garth; sisters, Fran Guthrie, Kathy Scribner-Johnson and Linda Gilstad; husbands, Omer and Ralph; daughter, Carol Sadowsky; son-in-law, Ward Croff; and grandsons, Daniel Forland and Scott Croff.
