James Bruggeman

James Bruggeman, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away at Central Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2018.
James Edward Bruggeman was born June 3, 1945, to Margaret (Moors) Bruggeman and Clayton Joseph Bruggeman in Revannah, Ohio. He grew up in Williston, N.D. and Sidney, Mont., where he graduated from high school at Sidney High School.
May 25, 1968 - June 29, 1980, James was married to Marie Edeburn.
After graduating high school, Jim worked in restaurant management and in car sales. In July 1982, he began working for OK Implement/NAPA until retiring in July 2013. He also farmed in his free time.
James enjoyed bowling in which he was part of the Watford City bowling league for many years and was known to be a very skilled bowler. He also enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Watford City High football. He loved listening to Elvis and the Oldies.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and would do anything for them. He began watching Days of our Lives with his mother. He made sure to arrange his lunch hours around his favorite program. When Holly was stationed in Germany, he would often write her letters updating her about the show. When Dami was born premature, they were only allowed a few people at a time in the NICU. He and Marie fought over who was going to go in first. While he was often a quiet man, when it came to his family, he was very vocal. Another funny memory his girls had was when he would pick them up to bring them to visit and they drove through Arnegard, he would always ask if Arnie was on guard. After awhile, Tina eventually stopped looking for Arnie. James loved telling jokes and will be dearly missed.
Surviving James are his children, Holly (Tim) Bouma of Colorado Springs, Rhonda Bourne of Watford City, and Tina (Todd) Kostad of Watford City; His grandchildren, Bobby (Kaeley) Brown, Dillon (Kristina Loomis) Brown, Kira Kostad, Angelyn Kostad, Brindin Kostad, Cassi Bouma, and Jaxson Kostad; Great-Grandchildren, Caidyn, Damien, Kallie, Asher, and Camden; His sisters, JoAnn Bruggeman, Jenny (Allan) Eberts, Jackie (Roger) Burkhardt, Julie McLaughlin, Jean Bruggeman, and Jill Miller; also several nieces and nephews.
Welcoming him into Heaven are his parents, Margaret and Clayton Bruggeman; and his nephews, Steve Burkhardt, Joseph Marman, and Damon McLaughlin.
There will be a celebration of his life on Friday Sept. 28, 2018, at 11 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City. Pastor Rob will officiate. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Watford City is assisting the family.
