Grace Kieson Baker

Grace Kieson Baker, 89 of Lebanon, Ore., passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at her home.
Grace was born on the family farm near Berg, N.D., on June 23, 1928, to Arthur and Esther (Bergquist) Kieson. She was raised on the farm and educated in the one room county school.
While in Cheyenne, Wyo., in July of 1947, she met Tommy Baker, who was serving in the United States Air Force. Tommy and Grace married on January 31, 1948, in Clovis, N.M. After Tommy’s discharge from the Service they lived in several States including, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, where Tommy worked as an Electrical Lineman and Grace a homemaker. In 1989 they retired from work in Alaska and moved to Lebanon, Ore.
Grace is survived by her husband Tommy; son, Lon (wife Ginger) Baker of Las Vegas, Nev.; and daughter Korene (husband John) Sonnamaker of Sweet Home, Ore.; nine grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Bill Baker; granddaughter Heidi Baker; her parents; brother Willard; and sisters Irene and Agnes.
At Grace’s request there will be no public funeral service. There will be a family memorial at a later date.
