Evelyn Noftsker

Evelyn Noftsker, 97, of Fairview, Mont., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson, Mont.
Evelyn was born to Arthur and Julia (Melland) Myhre on Aug. 29, 1919, in Baker, Mont.
She attended grade school in a rural school in Fallon County, Mont., Baker Elementary School and an elementary school in Washington State.  
On Sept. 28, 1935, she married the love of her life, Irvin Noftsker.
During the war they traveled extensively while Irvin worked construction.
In 1946, they returned to Baker and purchased a farm southwest of Baker.
In the fall of 1952, they sold the farm and Irvin began working in the oil field.
In 1956, they moved to Williston, N.D. and then in 1973 to Watford City, N.D.
Wherever they lived, Evelyn was involved in a church. In both Williston and Watford, she was the youth group leader where all the teens called her Grandma. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Fairview Alliance Church. Her family and church were the most important things to her. She was very involved in the activities of her children, grandchildren and even the great-great grandchildren. Whenever possible she attended all their concerts, games, etc.
Evelyn moved to Fairview, Mont. when Irvin’s health deteriorated. She lived in her own home until after her 97th birthday.  
She was preceded by, her parents; her husband of 68 years, Irvin; her son, Royal; her brothers and their wives, Reuben (Julie), Orville (Helen), Clarence, Sandford (Desolee); infant brother, Calvin; sister, Adele (Bill) Sleeth; son-in-law, Richard Willard; granddaughter-in-law, Holly Hanson; and grandson-in-law Dan Holm.
Evelyn is survived by, her two daughters, Julia Anne Willard of Kenosha Wis., and Fern (Duane) Hanson of Fairview, Mont.; Grandchildren, Milton (Vicky) Hanson, Park Rapids, Minn., Larry (Becky) Hanson, Buffalo, Ill., Kirk (Becky) Willard, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Cheryl ((Ray) Trumpower, Fairview, Mont., Brenda (Tom) Gullikson, Williston, N.D., Lori Noftsker, Tenn. and Charity (Martin) Eigenberger, Kenosha Wis.; as well as 19 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Delores) Noftsker, Washington, and Clifford Hanley, Whitefish, Mont.
Funeral services for Evelyn Bernice (Myhre) Noftsker, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at the Fulkerson-Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Sidney, Mont. Pastor Larry Hanson and Pastor Kelly Sloan officiated. An additional service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Baker, Mont. with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Bonnievale Cemetery in Baker, Mont.
