David Kummer
David Kummer, 71, of Watford City, N.D., died on Friday afternoon, March 20, 2015, at his home in Watford City, N.D.
David was born on January 10, 1944, Watford City, N.D., the son of Louis and Lillian (Veysey) Kummer. He was raised on the family farm and attended schools in Keene and Watford City area. Following school, David worked on the family farm and for area farmers. He went to work in the oil field and worked for KBM Well Service for 26 years. When he retired, he was working as an operator on a work over rig. David was united in marriage to LaVeta Senff on September 29, 1984, in Stanley, N.D. After the marriage they made their home on David’s family farm in Keene, N.D. In 1994, they moved to Watford City and have remained there ever since.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, his children and his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed working in his garden. David took great pride in his garden, spending a lot of time and, effort, making it big and beautiful.
Surviving him are his wife, LaVeta “Punky” Kummer, Watford City, N.D.; his daughters, Jenny (Les) Trottier and Twila (Wade) Hurley both of Williston, N.D., Billie Namanny, Amanda (Ronnie) Thompson, Shana Lopez, and Kylie Flippin all of Watford City, N.D.; his siblings, Fern Snell, Chokio, Minn., Lorraine Walton, Lovington, N.M., Gladys (Jim) Gregory, Midland, Texas, Linda (Jerry) Wilson, Tacoma, Wash., Debbie (Randal) Running, Mesquite, Nev., Donna (Kelly) Berg, Brandon, Minn.; Shirley Norby (Robert) Lovaas, Loretta Anderson, Michael (Betty) Kummer, all of Watford City, N.D., Kenneth (Kathy) Kummer, Douglas Kummer, and Miles Kummer, all of Keene, N.D.; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers-Jerome Kummer, Clayton Kummer, and Stanley Kummer, and sister-Cynthia Hick.
Graveside services for David Kummer were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City with Pastor Rob Favorite of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Family gathered at the Fulkerson Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. At 2:00 p.m., they left for the Schafer Cemetery.
