Dana Ward

Funeral services for Dana James Ward, 31, of Fargo, N.D., formerly of Watford City, N.D., were Friday July 20, 2012, at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City, with Pastor Rob Favorite officiating. Interment was in the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City, N.D.
Dana James Ward was born on Aug. 9, 1980, the son of Jim and Tanya (Harmon) Ward in Williston, N.D. He was raised and educated in Watford City, N.D., and graduated from the Watford City High School in 2000. While attending high school, Dana was active in hockey and football. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City. He attended UND Williston. Dana then moved to Fargo, N.D., where he worked at several jobs up until his most recent job at the Sanford Health Center.
Dana enjoyed hiking and camping, skateboarding, arts and music. He loved his dog Rain (a.k.a. Chubbers) and never left home without him. He had a beautiful fish aquarium and had recently saved enough money to purchase a Ducati motorcycle that he enjoyed riding very much. Dana enjoyed hanging out with friends and getting together for a meal.
Dana will most be remembered for his smile, kindness, and non-judgmental personality.
Dana passed away on Monday morning, July 16, 2012, at the Sanford Health Center in Fargo, N.D., due to an acute illness.
Dana is survived by his mother, Tanya, and stepfather, Larry Anderson, Watford City, N.D.; his father, James Ward and step-mother, Rachel, of New Bern, N.C.; his brothers, Michael Linseth, Bismarck, N.D., Jonathan Ward, Watford City, N.D.; and Stephan Ward, Bismarck, N.D., step-brother Dylan Andersen, and step-sister Katie Andersen, Watford City, N.D.; his grandparents, Donna Lou and David Sanford, Watford City, N.D., and Roger and Phyllis Harmon, Minot, N.D.; his girlfriend Allison Roth, Fargo, N.D.; his nephew Shawn Linseth; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his dog Rain “Chubbers.”    
Dana was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
