Conrad Beckman
Conrad William “Bill” Beckman, 55, of Mesa, Ariz., died Saturday, July 20. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church located at 2745 N 32nd St., Mesa, Ariz.
Conrad was born Oct. 22, 1957, at Bowman, N.D., to Kenneth and Karen Beckman. He graduated from Watford City High School, Watford City, N.D., in 1976. He attended Minot State University for two years on a football scholarship. He eventually graduated college with a bachelor of college studies. He also studied at UND, Grand Forks, North Dakota and ASU, Tempe, Ariz. His main employment in recent years was as a quality control assurance agent in the computer chip industry, which required him to relocate to many different states during his career.
One of Conrad’s most important accomplishments was involving himself with AA and NA which helped him defeat his addiction problems. He was “clean” for many years, including the very end. His continued involvement with these organizations allowed him to sponsor many individuals with these types of problems. Recent communications have made it clear that he was instrumental in saving some lost souls with his commitment to support and care for those with little hope.
Depression was the affliction that Conrad could not defeat. This devastating mental illness lead to his demise. May the Lord give Conrad the peace he could not secure here on earth.
Conrad had an abundance of love for those fortunate enough to know him. His last communication was “I love you all.”
