Charles Fulton

Charles “Buzz” Lynn Fulton of Beach, North Dakota passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at the age of 83.
Charles was born on February 27, 1934, to Dudley and Barbara (Woodsen) Fulton in Grandpa Fulton’s house at Carlyle, Mont. Buzz attended school in Golva, N.D. and graduated with the class of 1953. He worked at the Carlyle Farmer’s Elevator and then for Leonard Fahlstrom at Fahlstrom Grain.
Charles married Helen Jean Beeler on July 15, 1955, in Beach. In 1960, Buzz and Jean moved to Glendive, Mont. after Buzz became employed with KBM Well Service. They transferred to Keene, N.D. in 1965. In 1974, they moved to the Don Hammond place near Golva.
Buzz started Big Sky Well Service in 1980 and he worked there until his retirement in 2016. In 2016, Buzz purchased Buzzy Café in Beach where he enjoyed “coffee time” with the guys.
On June 6, 2015, he married Barb Stedman in Beach.
Buzz loved to play cards (especially pinochle), dance and enjoyed his flowers and his garden. Fishing trips with family and friends was one of his life’s highlights. Buzz was always supportive of local causes and helped raise funds for local benefits. It was said “If you bid against Buzz on a sour cream raisin pie, you need to have deep pockets!”
Those who preceded him in death were his parents, Dudley and Barbara Fulton; his first wife, Jean and his brother, Maynard.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; his six children, Connie Brown of Forsyth, Mont., Jim of Golva, Bob of Beach, Don (Connie) of Belfield, N.D., Ron (Maureen) of Beach and Barb and Hugh Weyer of Sturgis, S.D.; his brother, Larry of Glendive; his sisters, Donna Sygulla of Beach, Janice Stedman of Golva and Marlys Prince of Green River, Wyo.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and three step-children.
Family and friends gathered at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at the First Lutheran Church in Beach. A Celebration of Buzz’s life was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Golden Valley County Fair Grounds in Beach, Reverend Dana Holter officiated. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Silha Funeral Home in Beach. Assisting the family is Silha Funeral Home of Beach.
