Cathy Davila

Cathy Sue Davila, a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Watford City, N.D., at the age of 65. Born on Aug. 31, 1959, in Franklin, Ind., Cathy was a spirited individual who touched the lives of many with her humor, warmth, and dedication.
Cathy married Marcos Davila on Oct. 7, 1977. Together they built a life filled with laughter and love. Her unwavering devotion to her family was evident in her role as a loving mother to her daughters, Angela Collins and Jennifer Clevinger. Cathy cherished her family above all else, always finding joy in caring for her home and yard, and she took immense pride in creating a nurturing environment for her loved ones.
Her service to her country was another testament to her character. Cathy proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1977 to 1982, demonstrating her strength and commitment to others. Her time in the Air Force was a significant chapter in her life, reflecting her dedication to duty and her adventurous spirit.
Cathy had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her with her quick wit and love for playful pranks. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she had a unique gift for making others smile. Her laughter and light-hearted spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Marcos Davila; her cherished daughters, Angela Collins and Jennifer Clevinger; her brother, John Fewell; her sister, Le Ann Fewell; and best friend, Jan Hindson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Judith Van Horn and Kenneth Fewell; whose memories she kept close to her heart.
As we remember Cathy, we are reminded of her profound love for her family, her service to her country, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, as we hold dear the memories of her laughter and love. In the words that echo the sentiment of her life, “Mothers hold their children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever.” Cathy Sue Davila will forever be remembered with love and gratitude.
