Arlis Fritsvold

Arlis Elaine Fritsvold, age 80, of Chaska, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at home.  
Arlis was born January 21, 1938, in Arnegard, N.D., to Andrew and Asbjorg (Lyderson) Nelson. She was one of seven children.
On November 10, 1956 Arlis married Gerald Fritsvold in Arnegard, N.D. After marrying in Arnegard Gerald and Arlis moved to Panama where Gerald was stationed in the Navy. After his stint with the Navy they moved to New York for a short time; then North Dakota was calling and they moved back. They settled in their hometown of Arnegard where they resided until they moved to Chaska in 1967. Arlis and Gerald have resided in Chaska for the last 51 years in the Sandy Acres Neighborhood.
Arlis enjoyed music, singing and playing piano and Baritone. She was involved in the Crown of Glory Church Choir and the Chaska Community Band. She worked at Rosemount Inc. in Eden Prairie in their human resources department for 25 years and retired early. She and Gerald bought a home in Estero, Fla., and enjoyed their winters there for 11 years. Arlis was the epitome of the gracious host always welcoming others into her home. Her sense of humor was something that is warmly remembered by all that knew her.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Fisketjon, Ida Evanson and Lyla Tweet.
Survived by her husband of 62 years, Gerald; children, Gene (Kristi) Fritsvold of Jordan, Mark (Mary Jo) Fritsvold of Chanhassen, Terry (Greg) Hanninen of Shakopee, Cary (Barb) Fritsvold of Carver; grandchildren, Sara (Jon) O’Brien, Travis (Abby) Fritsvold, Sheena (Jason) Akre, Randy (Jade) Mahlen, Ryan (Jenna) Mahlen, Ashley Mahlen (Matt Fox), Tyler (Desaray) Fritsvold and Lexi (Nate) Doerflein; greatgrandchildren, Olivia, Sullivan and Isla O’Brien, Ramsey and Monroe Fritsvold, Scarlett, Jude, and Sylvie Akre, Levi Mahlen, Hollie Mahlen, Arley Fox and Liam Fritsvold; brothers, Neil (Maxine) Nelson of Arnegard, N.D., Marvin (Stella) Nelson of Bismarck, N.D.; and sister, Betty Bartolomei of Grand Forks, N.D.
Memorial service is Wednesday, July 25, at 11 a.m., with time of sharing staring at 9:30 a.m., at the Crown of Glory Lutheran Church, 1141 Cardinal Street, Chaska. Burial will be at a later date in North Dakota.
