After 12 years of teaching agricultural studies at Watford City High School, Agricultural teacher and FFA Advisor Scott Wisness was awarded as the 2022 North Dakota Association of Agricultural Educator’s Teacher Mentor of the Year.
“Of course as a teacher, you aren’t really in it to win awards. You are in it to help students and because you like teaching and helping people,” says Wisness. “I was pretty honored to be recognized from other ag teachers across the state. It’s a nice recognition, especially as a mentor to other teachers.”
A lifelong resident of North Dakota, Wisness taught at Watford City High School (W.C.H.S.) from 2009 to 2015, when he took a brief break to be the area career and technical education director for the Great North West for a year.
“I came back in 2016 and have been here since,” he says.
