Watford City receives federal grant to begin cost saving upgrades

Justin Smith, the director of the Watford City Public Works Department, explains that the new system will convert the current residential and commercial water monitoring system to a more efficient and less labor intensive one.
Watford City received $100,000 from the Federal Bureau of Reclamation and the entire grant will go toward upgrading the existing water infrastructure. “Because of this grant, there is no cost to the customers for at least this first phase of the project,” said Smith.
