Motorists and visitors entering Watford City may soon be greeted by a new set of monument signs designed to reflect the community’s evolving identity and continued growth.
According to city officials, the Watford City has finalized plans for three new entrance monument signs that will be installed at major gateways into the community. The project represents the return of monument-style entrance signage, which has been absent since construction of the Highway 85 Bypass altered key traffic patterns around the city.
The new signs will prominently feature the city’s recently adopted logo and branding, part of a broader community rebranding initiative unveiled in late 2025. City leaders have described the effort as a way to better communicate Watford City’s identity to residents, visitors, prospective businesses and future residents.
At its June 1 meeting, the Watford City Council approved the final design concept and authorized the project to be advertised for competitive bids. Bids will be accepted through July 1, 2026.
If the project moves forward as anticipated, construction and installation of the signs could begin later this summer.
